Olim in Italia erat templum antiquum Dianae in silva. Propinqua erat casa ubi hieme nauta cum agricola habitabat. Aestate nauta ab Italia navigabat et multas terras spectabat. Agricola templum amabat quod Diana, dea lunae, agricolis cara erat. Sed nauta dixit, "dea in templo antiquo non habitat." Olim noctu nauta in silva ambulabat. Leniter ambulabat quod via erat obscura. Subito ianuam apertam templi antiqui et flammas claras in ara vidit ("he saw"). Pro ara stabat dea pulchra cum multis puellis. Puellae lucernas parvas portabant, sed dea sagittas claras portabat.
Dea erat Diana. Aram et flammas diu spectabat. Denique dea dixit, "Multa templa habeo, sed incolae terrae aras meas non servant. Mihi dona non dant. Deae non manent in terra ubi incolae aras dearum non servant. Date, puellae, mihi lucernas. Eritis stellae in caelo. Ero luna in caelo."Puellae deae lucernas dabant. Templum antiquum erat obscurum. Flammae et lucernae non erant in ara. Sed luna erat clara in caelo et noctu stellae erant clarae in caelo.
