Writing With Style is a writing course designed to meet the different needs of each individual student. The student will have many options from which to choose for his/her personally directed course.

The purpose of Writing With Style is to improve each student's writing ability, specifically in the areas of his/her interest or need. This class will prepare each student to successfully write for most high school or college freshman classes.

The teacher of this class has chosen the five modes of writing specified by the State of Oregon for its writing standards. These five modes cover the basics of the types of writing most students will be required to accomplish in high school and early college. The student will also read works in the different modes through the Internet, books, or magazines in order to increase his/her understanding of writing. In addition, at least one published writer (in London) will be available to students for encouragement and insight into the creative writing process.

As the student works through each lesson, s/he will continually build upon skills learned, culminating in a major work that, if well done, may be published on the Internet.
